The Tapping Revelation

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, In : Guitar Tapping

Two ways of playing the Pentatonic scale using Tapping, the first way is to play the Pentatonic scale as a three notes per scale pattern and then adding one note as Tapping, using this way you play a new pattern on every other string.

The other way is to play the good old Pentatonic pattern you may know using two notes per string, then the cool thing is that the pattern you would play on every other string, in this case the A, G and high E string you add to the same string using a two note Ta...

Extreme Tapping Locrian omit fourth

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, In : extreme tapping

About
So this technique is actually the same we make us of in the Major scale and Dorian and Phrygian Extreme Tapping lick we did the last few times, we just change the major third into a minor third and change the ninth or second into a flattened and use the index finger for this of course, this way get the Locrian, then this new pattern in the tapping hand makes sure we get the flattened fifth and omits the fourth, the two whole steps in the tapping hand also gives us the flattened sixth and...

Extreme Tapping Major Scale

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Friday, September 21, 2018, In : extreme tapping

About
So this lick or scale is one of my ultimate trademark licks that really got my playing going and it can for you too. Once you get a hold of this baby you will be able to shred like a maniac for sure

Theory
This is sort of a Ionian scale but it can also work as a dominant scale since there is no seventh in it, so its a complete major scale with no seventh and therefore you can use it either as a Ionian scale also called the major scale or you could use it as a dominant step scale, or a mix...

Fancy Arpeggios

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Friday, August 14, 2015, In : Sweep Picking Tapping

About
This is a C Major slash A minor Sweep picking, Tapping, Legato and sliding Arpeggios. It's really cool sounding and you can work it into your own playing from the second position of the Major scale, this means that when you are improvising and soloing and you at one point reach the second Scale position and also the G string you can break into this lick. Of course this is in the key of C but it will benefit you to the extreme if you try to use it in other keys, you could skip the 24th ...

Extreme Tapping Arpeggios combined with Guitar Scales

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Thursday, April 2, 2015, In : extreme tapping

About
This lick is one of my trademarks and what I normally call Extreme Tapping. Its a killer pattern that sounds really extreme once you got the technique down. One of the first things regarding this technique that most people find a little weird is something like starting a lick out with a hammer on which can feel a little awkward in the beginning. The nex thing is to make the string skipping lose the possible breaks between the notes and obviously also the string noise that can happen when...

Sweep picking advanced Tapping

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, In : Sweep Picking Tapping

About
Rightyho !! here is once again one of those crazy ass sweep picking triad arpeggios combined with tapping. And in this one I obviously do the sweep picking with the thumb and index finger which then gives me the possibility to tap with the long finger, ring finger and little finger. I want to tell you that it is a good attitude to have towards anything you want to learn that you can easily reach the goal that you have set for yourself but its also important to know that - that being said...
