The Tapping Revelation

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, In : Guitar Tapping

Two ways of playing the Pentatonic scale using Tapping, the first way is to play the Pentatonic scale as a three notes per scale pattern and then adding one note as Tapping, using this way you play a new pattern on every other string.

The other way is to play the good old Pentatonic pattern you may know using two notes per string, then the cool thing is that the pattern you would play on every other string, in this case the A, G and high E string you add to the same string using a two note Ta...

Extreme Tapping Phrygian omit fifth

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, In : extreme tapping

About
So this technique is actually the same we make us of as the Major scale and Dorian Extreme Tapping lick we did the last few times, we just change the major third into a minor third and change the ninth or second into a flattened and use the index finger for this of course, this way get the phrygian, then this new pattern in the tapping hand makes sure we get the seventh and omits the fifth as opposed to omitting the seventh as the last few times

Technique
This technique is something I inve...

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Friday, December 9, 2016, In : Neo Classical Shred Guitar

About
This piece of music is taken from the latest (as of this moment) Sage's Recital album titeled The Winter Symphony. It features myself on Guitars, bass and Orchestrations, Jakob Vand on Drums and John West on vocals and Fabio Lione as well on vocals. This solo is a lot of fun to play because it features both some strong melody as well as some pretty cool Shredding

Techniques
A few of the notable techniques worth paying some extra attention to is the bendin lick on the G string, here you nee...

Fancy Arpeggios

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Friday, August 14, 2015, In : Sweep Picking Tapping

About
This is a C Major slash A minor Sweep picking, Tapping, Legato and sliding Arpeggios. It's really cool sounding and you can work it into your own playing from the second position of the Major scale, this means that when you are improvising and soloing and you at one point reach the second Scale position and also the G string you can break into this lick. Of course this is in the key of C but it will benefit you to the extreme if you try to use it in other keys, you could skip the 24th ...

Creative Shred Guitar

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Monday, May 4, 2015, In : Sweep Picking Tapping

About
This video is about getting your own creativity flowing regarding shred guitar and shred techniques. I really feel that once I started to create my own licks and sort of created my own techniques like Sweep picking 8 finger tapping and Sweep picking combined with Extreme and Advanced Tapping I became much more creative and what was awesome about that was also that it gave me many more reasons to practice as much as possible. Im not saying that no one else was doing this in the world, b...

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Sunday, April 5, 2015, In : stunt guitar

About
Hey hey ! here is the first new blog post since my old website was hacked and destroyed. As you may know this is the new url where things are going down from now on. I wanted to congratulate that all the old blog posts are up and running again and now with this latest addition to the blog posts you'll get a very short and sweet lick addressing both Sweep picking tapping and my crazy Cross hand technique. Obviously this is not something that is easy to use in improvising and therefore I ...

Extreme Tapping Arpeggios combined with Guitar Scales

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Thursday, April 2, 2015, In : extreme tapping

About
This lick is one of my trademarks and what I normally call Extreme Tapping. Its a killer pattern that sounds really extreme once you got the technique down. One of the first things regarding this technique that most people find a little weird is something like starting a lick out with a hammer on which can feel a little awkward in the beginning. The nex thing is to make the string skipping lose the possible breaks between the notes and obviously also the string noise that can happen when...

Sweep picking advanced Tapping

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, In : Sweep Picking Tapping

About
Rightyho !! here is once again one of those crazy ass sweep picking triad arpeggios combined with tapping. And in this one I obviously do the sweep picking with the thumb and index finger which then gives me the possibility to tap with the long finger, ring finger and little finger. I want to tell you that it is a good attitude to have towards anything you want to learn that you can easily reach the goal that you have set for yourself but its also important to know that - that being said...

Extreme Tapping Major Arpeggio

Posted by Niels Vejlyt on Sunday, March 15, 2015, In : extreme tapping

About
Its Shred Guitar time again. Here is a really awesome tapping pattern that I have been using for quite some years but I expanded it with a few more notes... what a bonus. Its one of those techniques where its pretty difficult to damnp the strings while you play because you need to tap with several fingers on low and high strings, so to make it juuuust perfect I sometimes use the neck pickup to kill the noise if I need to. For example a live situation where feel less confident than when s...
